Plan Selection Webinar Recording Now Available

On November 22, Manatt Health Solutions, with support from the State Health Reform Assistance Network (State Network), led a webinar, “Qualified Health Plan (QHP) Selection: Considerations for Consumers,” that reviewed the interplay between premiums and cost-sharing across the metal levels and catastrophic coverage generally. Specific examples demonstrated the implications of different premium and cost-sharing options for consumers of different ages and with different incomes and health care needs. Finally, the webinar examined non-financial considerations such as provider networks and formulary designs, noting among other things the range of preventive services which must be provided without any cost-sharing in all options. The archive of this webinar, including presentation slides and a recording, are now available here.
“QHP Selection: Consideration for Consumers” was the third in a series of three slide presentations that Manatt has developed, in conjunction with the State Network, to help states and their “assisters” address some of the issues most confounding consumers. More information on the other two primers can be found below.

Advance Premium Tax Credits and Cost-Sharing Reductions: A Primer for Assistors
This educational slide deck is designed as a tool to educate navigators, certified application counselors, and other assisters, as well as Marketplace staff, eligibility workers,  and others that need to understand and be able to explain how advance premium tax credits (APTCs) and cost-sharing reductions (CSRs) work in practice.

Reconciliation of Advanced Premium Tax Credits: A Primer for Assisters

In this webinar, Jocelyn Guyer and Tanya Schwartz of Manatt Health Solutions reviewed a primer on the reconciliation of APTCs, walking through how reconciliation will work when consumers file their taxes and strategies consumers can use to minimize the risk of repayment.
