New Report on Effective Strategies for Year Two Open Enrollment Messaging

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation recently released a report intended to assist states and stakeholders in their development of effective strategies and messages to drive enrollment during the upcoming open enrollment period. Based on recent research on both the newly enrolled and still uninsured populations, key findings of this research include:

  • High satisfaction with coverage affordability among the newly insured;
  • Intention to shop to compare plans during the upcoming OEP but lack of awareness on key dates and renewal processes; and
  • The persistence of cost as a primary barrier to coverage among those who remain uninsured.
