In 2005, Alaska was awarded a HRSA State Planning Grant to conduct state level research on the uninsured. Alaska had two project goals: to collect current data on the uninsured and identify the economic and social impact of uninsurance; and to convene policymakers to identify strategies for a coverage expansion.
