Webinar

The State Health Reform Assistance Network is hosting a webinar to help states operationalize oversight of ACA insurance market reforms. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires states to undertake multiple reforms of their insurance market, including implementation of community rating, guarantee issue, and meaningful rate review. States must obtain legal authority to enforce the new market rules and develop the regulatory infrastructure to monitor compliance. The State Network webinar “Operationalizing Oversight of ACA Insurance Market Reforms” will review the responsibilities of states under the ACA, make practical recommendations on how regulators can gain needed authority for enforcement, and outline the process for federal enforcement if states are unable to meet their legal responsibilities under the ACA. Faculty for the webinar will include Joel Ario, Managing Director of Manatt Health Solutions and former director of the HHS Office of Health Insurance Exchanges, and Sally McCarty, Senior Research Faculty at the Georgetown University Health Policy Institute and former Indiana Insurance Commissioner and CCIIO staffer.

Joel Ario, Managing Director, Manatt Health Solutions
