The Bipartisan Policy Center's Task Force on Delevery System Reform and Health IT report discusses barriers that hinder the adoption, use, and alignment health information technology. Barriers include:

- Lack of health information exchange
The Task Force is a 32-member multistakeholder group co-chaired by former Sens. Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) and Dr. Bill Frist (R-Tenn.).
