Opportunity for States to Participate in Testing FMAP Claiming and Income Conversion Methodologies

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has contracted with the RAND Corporation, State Health Access and Data Assistance Center (SHADAC), and the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL), to evaluate and refine proposed methodologies for identifying individuals newly versus previously eligible for Medicaid for purposes of FMAP claiming, and converting current state Medicaid eligibility standards to the new MAGI-based standards. RAND is currently seeking 10 states to participate in this project. On October 26, SHADAC hosted a webinar to provide an overview of the project, including information on how states can participate (an archived copy of the webinar is available here). Please email Lisa Hiatt at hiatt@rand.org if your state is interested in participating in this important project.
