North Dakota
In 2003, North Dakota received a HRSA State Planning Grant. The Governor's Health Insurance Advisory Committee advised and made recommendations to the 2005 North Dakota Legislature following data collection and consensus building activities.
In order to provide the Committee with the data and information needed to inform policy options, the state conducted:
- Telephone-based Household Survey
- Focus groups with residents on their experiences obtaining coverage
- Focus groups with uninsured residents
- Focus groups with employers - 36 employers were invited to take part in focus groups to shed light on the choice to offer, or not to offer, coverage
