In 2002, New Jersey received HRSA State Planning Grant funds to conduct research to develop a strategy to provide access to affordable health insurance for every citizen of the state. New Jersey examined its health insurance market and the uninsured via telephone surveys of both employers and households. In addition, the grant team conducted research on New Jersey's FamilyCare program to identify improvements.
