Michigan
In 2004, Michigan received HRSA State Planning Grant funds to develop a plan that put forth a set of realistic strategies and viable options that led to health insurance coverage for all Michigan residents and promoted an understanding of uninsurance issues among key stakeholders and policymakers.
The State Planning Grant project expanded the current knowledge base regarding uninsurance issues by engaging in specific data collection activities including: household and employer surveys, focus groups of small and mid-size employers and insurance brokers, key informant interviews with policymakers, and town hall meetings.
Our hands-on technical assistance is confidential, non-partisan, and supported by RWJF, so there is no cost to the state.
